Marginalized Discount terms and exclusions

Structural inequity and marginalization are very harmful. At the same time, identity is extremely fluid and hard to define to a sufficient degree, not least because many kinds of marginalized identities are self-determined.

Our $50 discount is an action we take to directly confront structural inequity. We realize that it’s an imperfect fix because having a particular identity is not a perfect signal for financial need. It is our stance that a cisgender, heterosexual, white man, without a criminal record, does not qualify for this discount. That means the discount is available to anyone who has one or more of the following identities:

  • Has a criminal record
  • Person of color or of indigenous descent
  • Are not cisgender male
  • LGBTQ
  • Has a disability
  • Sex Worker
  • Houseless
